GreaseShield® Shortlisted for Green Technology Award 2026

EPAS is delighted to announce that GreaseShield® has been shortlisted for The Green Technology Award at the Green Awards UK 2026.

The recognition celebrates technologies delivering meaningful environmental impact and is an important acknowledgement of GreaseShield® and its innovative approach to fats, oils and grease (FOG) management.

Transforming Waste into a Resource

Developed by Environmental Products and Services Ltd (EPAS), GreaseShield® is an automated grease recovery technology designed to capture FOG at source before it enters commercial kitchen drainage systems.

Unlike traditional passive grease traps that primarily separate and store waste for subsequent removal, GreaseShield® actively removes and recovers FOG, helping protect drainage and wastewater infrastructure while creating opportunities for resource recovery.

Recovered FOG can be converted into biodiesel, transforming a problematic waste stream into a valuable renewable resource and supporting a more circular approach to wastewater management.

Independently Verified Performance

Environmental performance should be measurable, which is why independent testing and verification are central to the development of GreaseShield®.

Testing in accordance with the ASME A112.14.3-2022 Grease Interceptors Rating Standard demonstrated a 99.43% grease retention efficiency under the stated test conditions.

GreaseShield® also operates without energy-intensive electrical heating elements, instead making use of waste thermal energy already generated within commercial kitchen operations.

Combined with intelligent monitoring, diagnostics and remote system optimisation through EPAS technology, the result is a modern approach to grease management designed around pollution prevention, resource recovery and operational efficiency.

Proven in Real-World Applications

The benefits extend beyond laboratory testing.

The Green Awards submission includes customer case studies demonstrating measurable improvements following the installation of GreaseShield® technology, including reduced FOG entering drainage infrastructure, improved drainage conditions and reductions in unscheduled pump-outs and operational disruption.

Today, GreaseShield® technology is used across commercial foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, education, aviation catering and food manufacturing applications around the world.

Recognition for Green Innovation

EPAS has continued to strengthen the independently verified environmental credentials behind its technology, including ISO 14068-1 Carbon Neutrality certification and independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the GreaseShield® range.

Being shortlisted for The Green Technology Award: Environmental Products and Services – GreaseShield® is therefore a proud achievement for everyone at EPAS and recognition of our commitment to developing technologies that prevent pollution, recover valuable resources and deliver measurable environmental benefits.

We look forward to joining the other finalists at the Green Awards UK 2026.

Congratulations to Team EPAS and all of this year’s finalists!
