Leading the Way in Sustainable Waste Solutions
Environmental Products and Services Ltd (EPAS Ltd) is a recognised leader in drainage protection and waste management solutions, specialising in the hospitality and foodservice industries. Our award-winning products — including GreaseShield® and FilterShield™ — are designed to prevent costly blockages, minimise environmental impact, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Since our founding in 1998, we’ve grown to ship over 35 eco-friendly products to more than 43 countries worldwide, operating from facilities in Northern Ireland and England. We are certified carbon neutral under PAS 2060, and our technologies hold the Global GreenTagCert™ PlatinumHEALTH™ HealthRATE™ — affirming their sustainability and safety credentials.
EPAS Ltd has developed a forward-thinking waste management strategy built around five pillars:
Product Innovation: GreaseShield® harnesses waste thermal energy from commercial kitchens to recover fats, oils, and grease (FOGs), which are then converted into biodiesel supporting the circular economy while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Operational Efficiency: Our EPLC (EPAS Programmed Logic Controller) enables real-time system monitoring, reducing the need for manual checks while ensuring regulatory compliance and peak performance.
Industry Education: We provide extensive training for customers, engineers, and distributors to promote proper system use and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Continuous Improvement: By investing from annual turnover into R&D, we continue to refine existing technologies and develop new clean tech solutions.
Compliance: EPAS Ltd meets rigorous standards including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, and PAS 2060, reinforcing our commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.
Over the past year, we’ve introduced the EPLC within GreaseShield® units offering remote performance tracking via mobile. This reduces downtime and improves system reliability and customer service.
In 2024, we achieved PlatinumHEALTH™ certification for our GreaseShield® range, awarded to products demonstrating low environmental impact and superior health safety throughout their lifecycle.
We also successfully renewed our carbon neutrality status under PAS 2060, confirming our ongoing reduction and offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions.
Importantly, GreaseShield® is the only grease recovery unit on the market that does not rely on electric heating elements. Instead, it uses waste heat from dishwashers and sinks, dramatically reducing energy use and cutting carbon emissions.
Compared to used cooking oil, FOG waste yields three times more carbon credits and holds significantly higher environmental value when converted into biofuel. It also avoids the methane emissions associated with landfill disposal and helps build a low-carbon, clean energy economy.
In fact, converting FOG to biodiesel can save up to 87% of CO₂ emissions compared to conventional diesel fuel turning kitchen waste into a powerful climate solution.
At EPAS Ltd, sustainability starts with our people. All employees are trained not only on the technical aspects of our products but also their environmental significance.
Our team promotes green practices across all sites, including recycling, energy conservation, and responsible waste disposal. This integrated approach helps reduce our operational footprint and fosters a company-wide culture of sustainability.
EPAS Ltd remains focused on driving environmental progress through the following future initiatives:
Fertiliser Production from recycled food waste
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all products
Continued R&D investment to tackle emerging sustainability challenges
Establishing a manufacturing base in the USA to reduce transport emissions
Strengthening global partnerships to scale sustainable waste solutions
Through these ambitious goals, we aim to lead the industry in sustainable innovation while delivering lasting benefits to communities, ecosystems, and partners worldwide.
