Description
EPDM Rubber Manufactured in EPDM [Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer(M Class)] Rubber
- EPDM combines excellent resistance to deterioration due to the effect of ozone, oxygen, weather, heat and many chemicals
- Its serviceable temperature range is -40° F to +250° F and intermittent to + 275° F
- It is not recommended for use in contact with petroleum oils or fluids
- Hardness tolerance for a nominal IRHD value of 60 it ±5
- Tensile strength at least: 9MPa
- Elongation at break %: >300
- Ageing for 7 days at 70° the material must still be within the following property ranges;
- Hardness change max/min:+8/ -5
- Tensile strength drop as a percentage: -20%
- Elongation change as a percentage: 10%/-30%
- Stress Relaxation maximum reduction in % -7 days@70°:
- <15% relaxation of tensile stress -100 days @23%:
- <22% relaxation of tensile stress
- Water Absorption – Volume change in water – Test for 7 days immersion @ 70°C not volume change: Acceptable range is from -1% up to +8% net change in volume
